Abstract:
Ionic liquids (ILs) have many unique properties which make them of interest to manyengineers and chemists in recent years. ILs are molten organic salts which are liquid at nearambienttemperature. Their most remarkable properties are their extremely low vaporpressure and non-flammability which make them good candidates for green solvents. Thesolubility of various gases in ILs is one of the first major reasons of chemical and industrialILs applications. Today, a wide range of thermodynamic models have been used to describethe behavior of systems containing ILs[1,2]. During the past two decades many studies havebeen reported on the thermodynamic modeling of gas solubility in ILs. In this work, PCSAFTmodel has been applied to predict of solubility of gaseous NH3, in differentimidazolium-based ILs at various temperatures.
