Reliability Evaluation of Gas Turbine (case study) abstract
Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) is a process to ensure that systems continue to do what their users require in their present operating context. Successful implementation of RCM will lead to increase in cost effectiveness, Reliability, machine uptime, and a greater understanding of the level of risk that the organization is managing (SAE JA1011). RCM methodology includes: Keeping main function, Determining failure modes, Priority of function modes, and choosing monitoring systems. In this article, we focused on our case in view of Reliability, Availability, Vibration monitoring, and control systems of aforesaid Gas turbine. Reliability and Availability of our case due to process of polymer production in our complex are very critical and vital. Therefore in this case study for achieving reliability of Turbine’s components, performance, failure rate and number of failures according to RCM method have been reviewed. We extract data from maintenance history records and used RCM methodology and reliability equations for calculation. It is concluded that in five years (2011 to 2015) working time (43800 hrs.); Annual reliability of turbine’ system has been calculated. Maximum system reliability, 76%, and Availability, 96%, have achieved in 2014(first year after overhaul).Vibration analyses and control system show that on line and off line monitoring systems and also protection systems work perfectly and fit.
