Heavy Gas Dispersion Modeling Over a Complex Train with Computational Fluid Dynamic abstract

In accidentally released gas at graund level or where the gas denser than the air or we have many obstructions, dispersion is much slower and hazard range maybe significant. Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) provides a potential meanse of imporving the undrestanding of any effect on gas dispersion. In first stage commercial code must be validated with standard experimental results. In this paper used from Thorney Island and Kit Fox experiments to validate a CFXll code. The results showed that CFX approximated gas concentration histories with a reasonably good agreement and predicted correctly the behavior of gas cloud during dispersion.
