Finite Differential Mode for Low-Pr Melt Flow and Growth Interface Dynamics abstract
A set of 2D-finite differential calculations of momentum and heat transfer for Liquid Encapsulated Czochralski (LEC) growth of large diameter (75 mm) GaAs crystals was carried out. The analyses assume a pseudosteady axisymmetric state with laminar flows. Particular attention was paid to the forced convection effects in the Taylor-Proudman column close to the curved crystallization front, the shape of which remarkably affects the structure and properties of crystals.
