Irregular Wave attenuation on muddy beds abstract
Interaction between surface waves and the mud bed leads to the damping of the surface wave amplitudes and the mass transport within the mud layer. When surface water travel over a soft mud bed, an inter-surface wave between the water layer and the mud layer is generated resulting to high wave attenuation and mass transport in mud layer.
During past decades, a number of outside have been made on different aspects of wave-mud interaction. However, almost all of these studies have been conducted under regular waves. The present paper offers a multi-layered model to predict the wave attenuation under irregular waves.
