The Application of WAVE Engine Performance Simulation In Design abstract
eEngine performance simulation and analysis software is increasingly being used intensively for the design and development of all engine types. The application of such software throughout the whole of the engine design process means that the design of the intake, exhaust, valvetrain and combustion system can be defined and optimised, in order to help meet performance, fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions targets. This intensive use of simulation at the design stage results in highly optimised engine specifications. shorting the design yime and reducing the amount of costly prototype testing required.
This paper describes the application of the WAVE engine performance simulation code, and how these simulations are integrated with other analysis activities carried out during engine design.
