Survey of the petrol engine management systems development for air pollution decrease over the last 10 years abstract
At the beginig of the 1980's, in Europe, air pollution due to industry and transport, began to be sensitive to most people, A large ecologist movement rose and acquired sufficient power to force the european car industry to develop and implement new technologist aimed at decreasing pollution levels. The field of reduction was the content of pollutants in the exhaust gasses and the losses of stored petrol in the fuel system.
Step by step, permitted pollutant levels were decreased, accordingly to the level of stress that could be acceptable to the car makers in the usual sales argument versus cost battle.
20 years later, the spark ignition petrol engine has changed, in a larger amount than during the 80 earlier years and its basic equipment is quite different.
