Abstract:
Hollow gold nanoparticles were prepared by using cationic gold- thiourea complex. Silica nanoparticles in the size range of 70nm firstly prepared by condensation of (tetraethyl orthosilicate) TEOS in ethanol in order to use as a hard template for decomposing gold nanoparticles on it, by this way silica-gold core-shell nanostructures were synthesized. In this research we used chemical etching method by hydrofluoric (HF) acid for removing the silica cores. Finally hollow gold nanospheres with the thickness of 10 nm and diameter of 100nm were achieved. Hollow gold nanospheres have high active surfaces for drug delivery, treatment of cancer, catalytic activity and so on. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis used for studying active surface area and porosity of silica-gold and hollow gold nanospheres
