Urgency of sustainability issue in Iran s national building codes especially fourth topic

To achieve the goal of making sustainable buildings, what engineers do in seven main majors of construction is of great importance and should be taken into consideration. Architecture engineers should design the buildings in a way that they can get the highest advantage of natural powers (sun, light, ventilation and etc.). The calculations of the constructions should be done that not only give them enough sustainability and strength but also avoid wasting national invests and natural resources. Facilities engineers have to try to reduce and optimize energy consuming in building and at least provide the required energy of buildings from renewable power resources. It may be clear to everyone that in green notebooks of national building codes in Iran this topic is ignored in the main rules and legislation and so needs to be discussed. Although the sustainable development has turned to an obvious and vivid feature in the college texts of industry building engineers but not updating this matter caused it to be thought as a luxury and unguaranteed way of operation in the real world. In this study the attempt has been made to give a clear definition to the sustainability in the buildings and talk about how national building codes is followed in the basics of sustainability. Finally solutions for improving and promoting these lows to the green and sustainable criteria are given.
