Abstract:
A route is described for the preparation of a novel composite of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP)/graphene oxide (GO), MMIP@GO, and evaluated as a selective material of Rivastigmine (RIV). The MMIP@GO was obtained by radical polymerization of the mixture of acrylamido-2-methyl-1- propanesulfonic acid (AMPS) as functional monomer and ethylene glycol diacrylate (EGDA) as cross-linker in the presence of acrylate-functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles, graphene oxide, and RIV as the template. The swelling behavior of MMIP, its recognition, and selectivity for RIV and donepezil hydrochloride as structural analog were tested and compared with the magnetic non-imprinted polymer (MNIP). The adsorption of the template reached the equilibrium in 16 h, the mechanism of adsorption followed the Langmuir model with the maximum capacity of 71.41 mg g−1, and adsorption kinetic data were well fitted to pseudo-first-order model. The MMIP@GO indicated excellent recognition and binding affinity toward RIV, the selectivity factor (ε) was 1.98 relative to the analog
