CORRELATING OF MEAN DROP SIZE IN A SPRAY

In this experimental study , a correlation has been derived for predicting mean drop size in a spray extraction column . A number of experiments were performed with two liquid -liquid phase systems . Spargers were a set of nozzles with internal diameters of 1 and 1.3 mm . Experiments were conducted at different flow rates of the dispersed phase. The diameter of drops was measuerd by imaging of the drops . The results are reported as a practical correlation that includes all of effective parameters. The average absolute relative deviation of the correlation has been calculated about 1.6% that shows a little deviation from experimental data.
