Abstract:
Shielded metal arc welding method was used for welding samples. In this study design of experiments, response surface method (RSM), Central composite design (CCD) is used for designing a four factor to construct a statistical model for accurate prediction of responses. The influence of parameters: preheat, electrode diameter, welding voltage and the sheet thickness on the tensile strength welded st37 steel were studied. Changes observed in the process is including the real change of process and changes of measurement system. Thus, to determine the real changes it is necessary the changes of measurement system, identifying and be separated from total changes. Therefore, in this study to get the amount of error due to the measurement system, the Gage R&R Methodology is used. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated that electrode diameter with 72% influence on tensile strength of samples, is more effective than processing parameters.
