Abstract:
One out of six go to sleep with hunger every night in the world. The number of those who consume less than 1900 calory in a day has gone beyond 1 million. It is afew years now civil problems in countries hit the news instead of world hunger crisis. Most of the hungry and the poor population in the world are living in regions with prosperous agriculture and 60% of this population are women. The most part of this poverty is seen in rural centers of Africa and Asia yet the industrial and populated cities of the world are also affected. Ofcourse these are a little part of a bitter reality pertaining to food crisis and hunger in the world today. According to FAO, more than 1 billion and 600 million ton foodstuff is discarding of which major part is utilizable. Apart from environmental costs of these wastes, a huge amount of economical costs is imposing to families budget as well. In this paper we studied foodwaste in some countries, hunger in African countries and ways for foodwaste reduction
