Synthesis and Characterization of Sulfonated Block Poly (ether ketone) as Proton Exchange Membrane

a series of block copolymers of poly (ether ketone) containing sulfonated and nonsulfonated blocks were synthesized by nucleophilic condensation polymerization ofsulfonated and non-sulfonated oligomers. A series of block copolymers with different contents of sulfonated blocks were synthesized. Prepared block copolymers were casted fromtheir dimethyl acetamide solution of copolymers. Characterization measurements showedgood mechanical, dimensional and thermal stability of membranes and acceptable proton conductivity.
