Noninvasive Temperature Measuring System Using Ultrasound By B-mode Method abstract
In thermal therapy techniques such as ultrasound therapy, location of concentration of energy is essential. But recent techniques are also invasive and do not support permanent monitoring.The aim of our study is using ultrasound imaging to measure temperature of tissue non invasively. Using ultrasound imaging in addition to low cost, is non unizing and noninvasive. We used laser equipment to increase temperature of tissue sonographer to imaging withultrasound, thermometer to measure tissue temperature, tissue simulator (gelatin substance). After capture ultrasound images from tissue simulator, we process these images. Images werecaptured every 1 degrees increase by B-mode. Tissue temperature were increased by Nd:YAGlaser. Output power of laser were variable about 1 to 4 watt. Simulator of tissue were divided into 50 × 60 × 30 mm and placed in chamber Temperature of simulator were captured non invasively with a digital thermometer with± 0.03 accuracy. Temperatures were increasedLaser power and time shift were input parameters and temperature were temperature was output parameter. Using image processing methods, time shift were extracted. Then using regression by artificial neural networks estimated the relation between input and output.Finally between original value of temperature and estimated temperature mean square error of 0.24 was achieved
