Surveying the Impact of Contractor Attributes on the Success of Oil and Gas Projects in Iran

Oil and gas industry is the most important sector in Iranian economy. In addition, completing a project in a successful way is a vital and challenging aim for all stakeholders. Selecting the most suitable contractor is one of the most important factors in project success in oil and gas industry. To understand and investigate the impact of contractors’ attributes on the project success a questionnaire survey is used to establish professionals’ perception of Critical Success Factors of contractors that greatly impact on the success of oil and gas projects. In this research at the first step, CSFs will be identified and then by using Logistic Regression these factors will be linked to project success and finally by using Relative Importance Index will be ranked. The ranked and weighted attributes can be used in all decision making tool for selecting the most suitable contractors.
