Abstract:

this study deals with the effect of the stress paths on the optimum values of the input parameters of a sophisticated material model for concrete in the ABAQUS standard software. This material model is Concrete Damaged Plasticity or in abbreviated form as CDP model. CDP model s input parameters are categorized into three parts: elastic, plastic and damage parts. This study focuses on the plastic part of input parameters including eccentricity, dilatation angle and viscosity parameters. To finding optimum values of mentioned parameters, an objective function which computes the error of the calculations was defined. For assessing the effect of stress paths on this optimization procedure, three different standard experiments were considered and simulated by the ABAQUS software: Uniaxial compression test, biaxial compression test and three-point bending test. Obtained results demonstrated that the path of the stress can influence significantly on the optimum values obtained for the plastic input parameters of the CDP model.
