A Microstrip Antenna with Inverted Triangular Patch and C-Shaped Stub for WLAN and WiMAX Applications abstract

In this paper, a planar Triple-Band microstrip antenna is presented for wireless communications applications with circular polarization at a frequency of 5.5GHz. This antenna with a frequency of 2.4GHz, 3.5GHz and 5.5GHz is capable of WLAN applications coverage in accordance with IEEE802.11b/g (2.4-2.48GHz) standard, WiMAX applications based on IEEE802.16 standard (3.4-3.69GHz) and 5.5GHz for the third band of WiMAX applications with circular polarization. The antenna consists of an inverted triangular patch which has two slots to control the frequency bands and also a C-Shaped stub that is fed by a 50Ω microstrip line. This antenna with dimensions of 40×47×1.6mm3 is configurable on the FR4 substrate with the loss tangent of 0.024 and permittivity of 4.4.This antenna is simulated by ANSYS HFSS and CST microwave studio software and also the return loss and VSWR results are compared with each other which indicate VSWR≤2 for all the frequency bands
