Analysis of hazardous materials routing scenarios with Operations research approach: A Case Study from Fars province of Iran abstract
Transporting hazardous materials is very important due to the risks associated with it. Various approaches have been used in routing hazardous materials. Moreover, governments have different policies for reducing the risk of transporting hazardous materials and the fair distribution of the possible risk. Therefore, in this paper by presenting some scenarios, mathematical routing models were proposed based on each scenario, and the traffic policy for determining the capacity for different paths in the routing of hazardous materials was addressed. In this paper, four scenarios and models for the road networks of Fars province of I.R.Iran are represented based on the proposed models and the related efficiency is evaluated. The findings reveal that the capacity for the paths would help to distribute the risk in the road network and would prevent possible critical risk.
