Abstract:

This paper studies the compressive strength of the Tibia andFibula bones at three upper, middle and terminal sectionsexperimentally. To this aim the Tibia and Fibula bones havebeen cut into three equal parts with the length of 30 mm atthree upper, middle and terminal regions. The sections hasbeen subjected to the compressive test and their compressivestrength are compared with each other. The stress-strainplots obtained during the experimental tests show that thecompressive strength of these bones at their middle parts arehigher than other parts for both of the Tibia and Fibulabones. The results of experiments show that the bones havebrittle behavior and they fail quickly beyond the yield stress.
