Abstract:
Rapidly growing role of information and communication technologies including cell phones, Internet, Instagram, Telegram has been caused tremendous changes in people s life style. These changes remained significant impacts onpeople s life and work of all around the world. The purpose of present study is to prepare a structural modeling approach to explain the relationship between using Information and Technology Communication (ICT) tools (cell phones,Internet, Instagram, Telegram) and teenagers depression in Maku Free Zone, north west of Iran. The research hypotheses were tested with survey methods. The study population was adults with 17 to 18 years of age. In total, 265participants were randomly selected according to Morgan Table and then information was collected by means of questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using structural equation modeling SMART PLS. The findings showedthat there was a significant positive correlation between the using of ICT tools (Cell Phones, Internet, Instagram, and Telegram) and teenagers depression in Maku Free Zone. Therefore, the misuse of internet, cell phones and social networks caused less face to face encounters and made them to be more introspective. In this way, individuals began to distance themselves from direct communication that resulted in depression and loneliness
