A Quest to Develop, Test, and Refine Theories: The Building Blocks of an History Long Procedure

Natural and behavioral phenomena have always been appealing to human beings. It seems that communicating meanings obtained from observing these phenomena to others has been of significant concern for human beings. They have endeavored to do this through devising different systems of symbol. However, always there has always been a hazard concerning meaning overlap when trying to communicate observed phenomena. After the development of scientific ways of performing research, due to the presence of a variety of concepts from other fields of science this issue has been even got more complicated. Introduction of abstract concepts in order to shed light on different dimensions of scientific research in the hope of developing the most precise and clear methods to communicate meaning has accentuated the necessity of taking theory, concept, construct, hypothesis and propositions, just to name a few, into account. The primary intention of introducing such concepts was to help researchers tunnel their research toward building and supporting knowledge. Nevertheless, has left some perplexed. Drawing on different viewpoints concerning these concepts, this paper aims to summarize and elaborate on some of these building blocks of a scientific study.
