Studying the Effect of Shoja Addin Shafa’s Political Ideology on Farsi Translation of Prometheus by Lord Byron in the Light of House’s Model abstract

The present study attempts to investigate the effect of translator’s political ideology in translation. In this respect, a political poem, Prometheus, by Lord Byron is put under study which is translated by Shoja Addin Shafa in to Farsi. ST and TT are analyzed using Julian House’s Modelof Translation Quality Assessment (TQA). According to the needs of the method, Register, Genre, and Language are focused and based on the rules proposed by House different steps ofimplementing the method on St and TT are qualitative or quantitative. The results of the study show that the political ideology of the translator eventually manipulates the TT (e.g. omissions). The researcher hopes that the present paper may pave the way to more studies on Lord Byron’s works in the field of Translation Studies.
