Abstract:
This paper investigates the effectiveness of Health and Safety rules and regulations enforcement in the United Kingdom and Islamic Republic of Iran through detailed comparison of implementing such regulations by construction industries in both countries. Construction industries are performing very poor in Health and Safety part. Over the past three decades, Iran’s population has increased by double and as a result of such population outburst, number of construction projects have increased enormously in response to the needs of people. However, number of fatal accidents and injuries during construction projects have been very high and recent figures indicate little or no improvement to prevent those catastrophes. Also, investigates and introduces the best practices by the UK construction companies. The ultimate result of such investigations could be passed on to the Iranian construction companies as suggestive improvements for reducing the number of fatalities.
