Electrochemical Noise Analysis in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution, Using Wavelet Transform abstract

In this paper the electrochemicalcurrent signals. obtained from two identical electrodes exposed to simulated concrete pore solution, purged with S~ and C~ simultaneously, have been processed. using a wavelet transform. Using this method, theelectrochemical behavior of these electrodes could be comprehensivelyanalyzed. However, precautions must be taken to interpret the results which would otherwise cause confusion. To overcome this problem, two parameters were analyzed simultaneously, which complimented well with each other. It is shown that the passive layer formation, corrosion initiation and its intensity as well as frequencies of fluctuations through the signals related to the events, that hadoccurred on the surfaces ofthe electrodes. can be estimatedusing this method.. The main aim ofthis paper was to illustrate the robustness ofthis method in investigatingvarious corrosion mechanisms.
