A Simple Chemiluminescence Method for Direct Determination of Biperiden in Pharmaceuticals abstract
A sensitive and simple chemiluminescence (CL) method has been developed for direct quantification assay of biperiden, a medication used to treat Parkinson disease, in pharmaceutical dosage forms. In the proposed method acidic potassium permanganate was used as a CL reagent. In this method, the CL intensities were linear over the concentration ranges 4.0-15.5 µg mL-1 and 15.5-65.5 µg mL-1 and the speed of analysis was calculated approximately 40 samples h−1. The LOD was 12.4 ng mL-1 (signal to noise =3) and the percent of relative standard deviation (in 6 replicate measurements) was 5.6% for 4.1 µg mL-1 biperiden. The method successfully applied for the determination of biperiden in pharmaceuticals.
