Abstract:

Scraped tires degradation difficulties and material and energy recovering profits leading to collect and recycle scraped tires by designing a closed-loop supply chain network. In this regard, we develop a mixed integer linear programming model for tire closed-loop supply chain network. The proposed model aims to optimize total cost as economic factors, manufacturing and remanufacturing process, as well transportation cost. To solve the model for large scale networks, a new recent nature-inspired algorithm, water wave optimization is proposed. To compare the efficiency of this algorithm, a well-known evolutionary method, genetic algorithm is considered. Algorithm’s parameters are tuned by response surface method to appoint the proper values. Extensive computational experiments and comparison are done with different criteria to validate the efficacy of the proposed algorithms by real data set. Results reveal that recent nature-inspired algorithm is effective approach to solve the underlying problem in large scale network.
