Abstract:
In this paper to analyze the effect of bounded and unbounded tendons on the behavior of under bending segmental and monolithic prestressed bridge decks a numerical study is conducted on a prestressed box beam with different ratios of internal tendons to external ones. In these studies, using nonlinear static analysis the structure is loaded steadily until rupture and subsequently the impact of cables formation and existence of gaps between pieces in under study beam is investigated on issues such as strength, final deformation, member s ductility, stress of tendons and opening of gaps. In the last few years the hybrid impact of bounded internal tendons and unbounded external ones is studied where the bounded internal tendons present better cohesion and ductility in the member. Unbounded external tendons due to the lack of need for grouting provide higher speed and each of implementation and provide structural maintenance during its lifetime. Generally, the results of this study showed that the external prestressing provide lower strength than the internal prestressing in the member and only in the case that only the external prestressing is applied, there is final displacement in the member, otherwise by reducing the internal tendons and increasing the external
