Transportation and traffic are a political-social phenomenon that play a very important role in the economic, social and political structure of a society, without which it is not possible for the society to survive and grow and by eliminating it, systems of production, distribution, consumption and setting relationships between them will be disturbed. Since the transportation is one of the main elements of the development of the country، it can cause increase in energy consumption that it would lead to raise gases emissions and damage to the environment and the planet and ultimately global warming which will have important impacts on human health and ecosystem. Therefore, to reduce the damage to the sector transportation to the environment requires planning for a sustainable transportation system. Hence, the development of a green transportation system can with reducing the use of personal vehicles and reducing traffic, increased use of walking , cycling and public transportation ,the use of clean energy in vehicles, planning and creating spaces for walking instead of creating a highway, play an important role in protecting the environment and achieving sustainable urban development.
