Vitamin d supplementation and breast cancer prevention: a review study

The prevalence of morbidity and mortality among women with breast cancer is high, so research effort has been directed toward identifying breast cancer risk factors to target for prevention. Factors likelifestyle, nutrition environmental factors are associated with breast cancer risk. The aim of this study is to determine the role of vitamin D supplementation in reducing the incidence of breast cancer. Thisarticle is a review of studies about Vitamin D supplementation and breast cancer prevention. The databases searched included SID, CIVILICA, SCIENCE DIRECT, GOOGLE SCHOLAR and PUBMED. The period of searches for the years 2007 to 20017 and the words that were searched include Vitamin D supplementation, breast cancer and prevention. Articles were investigated in this period and in direct relation with this subject. According to the results of this study, vitamin D deficiency is common in people with breast cancer. Vitamin D has an effective antitumor effect. More studies are needed to determine the effective dose of vitamin D supplementation and serum levels of this vitamin in preventing Breast cancer
