Abstract:
Targeted drug delivery of cancer drugs has been raised as a new technique in recent decades. Meanwhile, the most important issue is the delivery of highest concentration of the drug cargo to thetarget position. Stimuli-responsive polymers, which have the ability to carry the drug with special conditions, are one of the optimal solutions in this topic. In this research, the importance of pH as akey parameter that can be adjusted in these polymers has been investigated. Since the pH value of tumor regions is significantly different with normal tissues, this result can be utilized to increase thedrug efficacy in targeted positions and reduce the side effects of cancer drugs. It has also been attempted to discuss the effect of enhanced permeability and retention mechanism along with changes in this parameter in cancerous tumors.
