The Application of the Concepts of Environmental Territory and its Environmental Impact

If we are not able to know the final goal of the society, it is impossible to manage it. Therefore, sustainability management needs sustainability goals to be defined and continuously checked and evaluated. Obviously, no smart decision about administrating sustainable development is possible without using a set of reliable sustainability indices. Indices play an important role in any report strategy and supervision. Sustainable development indices can measure the degree of implementation of the objectives very well. However, the definition of sustainable development does not determine how sustainability should be measured in practice. Development of index is a mutual process. A specific set of indices are not only needed for policy goals but also indices should help to determine and regulate the policies themselves. Therefore, developing indices is not completely technical or practical: it should also explain communication processes and policies. Indices should be precise (useful and practical) and behave well in quantification of goals. According to the report of current international sustainable development, there are 3 bases for sustainable development: environmental, social and economic indices.
