Evaluation of Surface Friction On Modified Porous Asphalt abstract
Traffic noise, splash, spatter, aquaplaning and skid resistance are public problems in dense asphalts. Porous Asphalt (PA) pavement is an alternative that believed to be meeting above mentioned requirements. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of crumb rubber and styrene-butadiene-styrene on surface friction of this PA mixtures. The British pendulum and sand patch tests were carried out the specimens. Test results show that crumb rubber has positive effect on surface friction and negative effect on macro texture.
