Abstract:

the purpose of this study was to investigate management decision making relationship with personality traits and political behavior in public office staff in Behbahan in 1394 through descriptive correlational method. The study sample contains 150 public office managers drawn up through available sampling method. To measure research variables the personality inventory of McCrae and Costa (1992), political behavior of Moghimi et al. (2007), and decision making style of Sa’atchi et al. (2004) were used. The overall result indicates that the mean and standard deviation of political behavior and management decision making variables gain high average score. Among factors of personality traits, neurosis gains low average score, and extraversion, openness to experience and conscientiousness gain high average scores. There is a positive relationship between personality traits variables and political behavior and management decision making. Among the variables of this study personality traits variable with the coefficient of 0.421 has the highest predictive power for management decision making variable. There is a multiple relationship between factors of personality traits and management decision making. There is also a multiple relationship between factors of personality traits and political behavior.
