Numerical Simulation of Double Disk Viscous Micropump abstract
The effects of channel aspect ratio and rotating speed on the flow performance of newly introduced double disk viscous micropumps are investigated in this paper. For the purpose of studying the influence of various parameters on the flow performance of double disk viscous micropumps, the full 3D models of the double disk micropumps have been developed and made an analysis using the finite volume method and properly boundary condition. It has shown that pressure difference varies linearly versus flow rate with constant rotating speed. The results show that maximum pressure/maximum flow rate at outlet of micropump linearly increase versus increasing rotational speed. The channel height effects the double disk viscous micropumps operation therefore the flow rate of micropumps increase with channel height increasing however outlet pressure decrease versus channel height increasing.
