An Enhanced Finite-volume Solution of Incompressible Flow in aBackward-Facing Step abstract
In this paper, numerical solution of two-dimensional laminar flow over a backward-facing step at low Reynolds numbers is presented. Convective flux modeling in tinite volume method is used for solving the incompressible Navier-Stoks equation in conjunction with the artificial compressibility. A fifth-order Runge Kutta scheme has been used for marching in time. the viscous was discredited by a second-order technique. Using the improved flux model led to an improvement in the convergence rate. The numerical results are compared with the available experimental and numerical data, where a favorable agreement would exist between them.
