Analysis of Potential States of Errors and its Effects in the Health Care Process When earthquake occurs

The analysis of potential states of errors and its effects is one of the most effective techniques of safety system and problem identification. The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential states of the error and its effects in the process of health care when earthquake occurs. This is a qualitative, descriptive-cross sectional study that was carried out in Dorood city, Lorestan province, in 2017. The research population consisted of all members of the city s crisis management team that twenty of them were evaluated through targeted sampling. In order to collect data, surrender of thoughts and group discussions of experts were used. Initially, the service delivery process of health care team was identified and the potential states and its effects were determined. Data were scored based on FMEA parameters and risk priority was calculated for each number. Then, using SPSS21 software, the risk level was calculated and the identified cases were prioritized and analyzed. The results indicated that the score of the assessed errors was related to the appropriate treatment measures with the risk priority number of 730, the dispatch of patients with 450, the lack of blood and its products with the number 544, the outbreak of epidemic diseases with the number 512, the standup of the Health care forces with 404, patients triage with 400, survivors psychological problems with 397, and accurate record of patients information with 382.According to the importance of the health care process when earthquake occurs and dealing with the lives of people, as well as being high of the most obtained risks, it is necessary to prepare control measures based on expert opinions in different sectors and to be repeatedly reviewed and experimental implemented.
