Today two kinds of paints are used in automotive industry, solvent base and water borne paints. One of the most important and common factors is curing of both kind of paints. cured coating should have good mechanical properties such as bending ,impact ,cross cut , hardness, cupping and chipping. Hardness is an important factor that shows the adhesion of paint film to the surface and determined by chipping test.Over curing cause losing hardness and cause several problems for production and often is because of, line stop or high temperature of oven. comparing over curing of solvent base and water born paints showed wide range of curing for water born paints.
