Wormhole Attack Detection Methods in Wireless Sensor Networks

Security is one of the challenges of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Various attacks in different layers, threat the security of WSNs. Wormhole attack is one type of attacks at the network layer, the attack applies on routing protocols. There are different types of wormhole attack. A wormhole attack is one of the most challenging security threats for wireless sensor networks because it can be the basis of many attacks. Wormhole attack is one of the types of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks that mislead the routing function. Several methods exist to detect and prevent wormhole attack. This article reviews various approaches to detect wormhole attacks in WSNs.
