DOES ADOPTION OF TECHNOLOGIES IS SLOWER IN SMES: WHY

Rapid ICT growth made possible for all scale of business firm to get accessibility, availability and affordability oftechnology. Large scale business firms are already well embraced by new technologies, while SMEs are not enormously accept toadopt new ICT based applications. The main purpose of this paper is to extract the hindering factors those affect the adoption rateof technologies by SMEs which usually slower than large firms. Based on the survey, the results of this study identified variablessuch as lack of technological awareness, unwillingness of Owners and technological threats are serious factors those resist theadoption rate of technology in SMEs. Moreover, the results suggests to SMEs that timely adopt suitable technologies and alsoorganize in an effective way, so that to maximize the economic and social benefits. Otherwise become very difficult to survive.
