Abstract:

The properties of asymmetric nuclear matter have been investigated in the framework of the Thomas-Fermi approximation using the effective nucleon - nucleon interaction of Myers and Swiatecki in the new approach at finite temperature. The effect of temperature on effective mass, pressure, entropy and binding energy is discussed. The symmetry energy of about 28.25 MeV is obtained at the saturation density. The results of calculations are compared with the other many-body calculations
