The Big Data Technology Puzzle: Overcoming the Dangers of Open Source

The big data processing technologies are critical parts of some current Internet services and systems. Here in this paper the licensing complexities concerning the big data technology described. It is shown that the technological elements required for a big data implementation might be subject to the licensing issues too. A new free and open alternative architecture for big data technology might be necessary and the problems facing the developers of such a system are set forth. The current big data technology might be assumed as a technologically insecure one although it might have the most advanced security technology. Any such technology here is claimed as insecure when the underlying technology is owned by unstable or conflicting policies and/or owner(s). It is encouraged to consider the mentioned issues before implementation of new big data tools.
