Abstract:

In this paper, tapered fork shape UWB antenna tailored for RFID applications is proposed. The feed line, and the diameter of the fork shape were analyzed to test the capability of the antenna of working on the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) and to obtain the frequency domain analysis. The operational bandwidth is from 2.4 GHz up to 13 GHz, which is a wide band of nearly 3 GHz more than the UWB (3.1-10.6 GHz) defined by the FCC. This range of frequency bandwidth allows us to use the antenna in RFID purposes as most RFID systems work on a 2.4 GHz frequency. The return loss (S11) inside this bandwidth is less than -10 dB. In this paper, we re going to present the simulated return loss and radiation pattern.
