Abstract:
The canonical function method (CFM) is apowerful accurate and fast method that solves the Schrodingerequation for the eigenvalues directly without evaluatingthe eigenfunctions. In this work, it is applied to thesolution 1D Schrodinger equation specializing to the linearpotential that is perturbed by electric field. The linear andsquare Stark effects are perturbation terms. Finally, theCFM results will be compared with the exact results. TheCFM method is superior to many standard techniques thathave been used to solve the Schrodinger equation such asNumervo.
