Abstract:

In this work, we study the two and triplet staticcorrelation functions in plasma when the ions interact viathe Debye screened potential and via the Deutsch screenedpotential. The latter takes into consideration the possiblequantum effects at short distances. The ratio of the meandistance between two ions and the thermal De Brogliewavelength r(i)/λT gives the measure of these effects. Ourinvestigation is developed in the conditions of weak couplingparameter (Γ1). The pair and the triplet correlationfunctions are calculated numerically and compared to thecorrelation functions due to the Kirkwood superpositionapproximation (KSA). Some applications to the ionvelocity auto-correlation function D(t) and the electric fieldauto-correlation function C(t) at an ion (assumed to be animpurity) and the diffusion coefficient D are calculated forthe two kinds of potentials in different plasma conditions.The comparison with other results found in the literatureshows a well satisfactory agreement, for the static as wellas the dynamic properties.
