IEEE 802.15.7 MAC layer Cumulative Network Throughput abstract

Visible light communication (VLC) uses the illumination infrastructure to provide high speed wireless connectivity. VLC has recently emerged as a promising alternative/complementary technology to conventional radio-frequency wireless access and has been standardized in IEEE 802.15.7. The physical and medium access control (MAC) layers of VLC have been standardized in IEEE 802.15.7 and by using Markov-chain based model, several performance bounds for the MAC layer of IEEE 802.15.7 have been studied like throughput measurements. In this work we extended some of these studies regarding the throughput metric, we present an cumulative state as more robust measurement of MAC layer throughput
