SYNTHESIS OF MESOPOROUS-CATALYST-SUPPORT-SILICA PARTICLES BY SOL-GEL PROCESS abstract

Sol gel method is a good way for synthesis of inorganic networks with different shapes like spheres, rigid films and etc. In this work we used this method for synthesizing silicaparticles .As we wanted to get particles with spherical shape ,we used emulsion media. We used TEOS as a precursor for making silica networks. We saw that Water/TEOS ratio, concentration of NH4OH, PH and … are some parameters that affect on final particle size. We saw that particle size increased by increasing of TEOS concentration. And also we saw that our emulsion is so sensitive to the concentration of ammonia and alittle change in its contant may result in formation of a large network instead of particles in our emulsion. SEM, FTIR and optical microscope tests were performed and the results are reported.
