Abstract:

Morpho-physiologycal change of the Stachys multicaulis were investigated under domestication in relation to different soil textures and irrigation regimes. Plant s scion was cultivated in pots in three different soil textures including light, medium and heavy in pot condition. Also a set of irrigation periods of 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 days were used at a completely randomized design. The results showed a significant trend in morpho-physiologycal traits change from habitat to domestication condition. Plants which are cultivated in heavy soil textures have higher performance. Plant height, calibrated greenness, leaf ratio and angle, moisture content hadn t a regular trend in comparison to the wild. The most significant change, leaf angle was 75°, 70°, 53°, respectively for 5, 10 and 15 days irrigation in heavy soil comparison to 29° for plants in wild habitat. Also some other morphological traits, number and length of leave s trichome had a significant effect (p<0.01) under domestication. Generally, the morpho-physiologycal change of the S. multicaulis is depending on cultivation conditions.
