Thermo-mechanical Stresses Analysis of the Exhaust Manifold to evaluate the Fatigue Life for different used materials abstract
In the present paper, firstly thermo-mechanical stresses analysis of the exhaust manifold is investigated by using the finite element method. The modeling, meshing and analyzing is done on a finite element model of the exhaust manifold in ABAQUS software. Then the thermo-mechanical fatigue life of the manifold is predicted by using Sehitoglu’s theory and FEMFAT software. Also the damage parameter is calculated for different used materials in engines.
