Identify and prioritize the factors affecting on implementation of electronic health records of patients in the Oil Hospital of Tehran

Today, Electronic Health Record is one of the most important applications of information technology in the field of health. EHR is undoubtedly of key technologies of healthcare and can meet all the broad and complex needs of health. The current paper aimed to identify and prioritize the factors influencing the implementation of electronic health records of patients in the Oil Hospital of Tehran. The target population of this study consisted of all managers of Oil Hospital of Tehran. Data collection tool was a description survey. The current study used Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the ranking of the identified factors. The results showed the Structural factors (with the final weight of 0.468), infrastructural factors infrastructures (with the final weight of 0.287) and resources factor (with the final weight of 0.244) are the most influential key factors influencing the implementation of electronic health records of patients, respectively. Accordingly, we can conclude that factors such as technical standards development, implementation methods development, security architecture and standards and Implementation a framework to evaluate the success of system can have the greatest impact on the successful implementation of EHR systems.
